Kelly Born PT has been a physical therapist for over twenty-five years. She has vast experience in many different therapy settings with multiple diagnoses.
What is Myofascial Release?
Myofascial release is a form of manual therapy that varies in intensity and application depending on the patient's needs at any given moment. A myofascial release therapist is trained to treat the area of pain and discern and treat the source or sources of the problem, allowing the whole body to resume a relaxed, balanced, and pain-free state of wellness.
What Should I Expect?
A thorough biomechanical and postural assessment of the entire body occurs before and during treatment. No lotions or oils are used and should not be applied beforehand. Talking is limited, but communication about your experience is encouraged. Learn to feel your body’s communication with you accurately and deeply. Be prepared to reach an unprecedented state of relaxation.

What Do I Need to Know Before My First Visit
- Very important: Do NOT wear any lotions or oils anywhere on your body before treatment. Even if you shower the night before.
- Clothing: No matter your diagnosis or problem area, I look at the body as a whole so please be prepared to undress to undergarments. Please let me know if you have any concerns regarding this expectation and I will adjust.
- Payments accepted: I do not accept credit cards, only cash, check, Apple Pay, PayPal, Venmo
- Parking: Park at the end of the driveway or in the street. Follow the sidewalk to the north side entrance. Walk in this door and have a seat in the waiting room to the left. Bathroom is to the right. Leaves shoes at the entrance. I may be with a client when you arrive. I will come and get you once I have the room ready.
- COVID Policy: I am fully vaccinated and follow current CDC guidelines for one-on-one interactions. My goal is to make you safe and comfortable, so please communicate your specific needs freely.
- Cancellation Policy: Your appointment time is reserved for you alone. Full price is charged for any cancellations within a 24hour time period.
- Insurance: I do not contract with any insurance company and am not a medicare provider. However, upon request, I can provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement at the nonpreferred provider rate. Please see your own policy for more information on reimbursement rates and their required procedure for submission.
